Our Mission
Gentle News is a free daily newspaper designed for elderly readers, especially those recovering from stroke or living with dementia. We believe everyone deserves access to the world's news in a format that's easy to read and enjoy.
What Makes Us Different
How It Works
Every morning at 5:00 AM Eastern Time, we automatically gather news from trusted public domain and Creative Commons sources. Our system selects the most interesting and uplifting stories, simplifies the language for easy reading, and generates a print-ready PDF newspaper.
Simply download, print, and enjoy with your morning coffee.
Our Sources
We curate content exclusively from sources that allow free republication:
- NASA (space and science)
- USGS (earth science and nature)
- FDA (health and safety)
- NIH (medical research)
- CDC (public health)
- Library of Congress (history and culture)
- National Endowment for the Arts
- Futurity (university research)
- Global Voices (world news)
- ECDC (European health)
Each article includes attribution to its original source.
